Job Title: ELD Subject Area Coordinator | Teacher on Special Assignment | August 2026-Present
1. Lead districtwide English Language Development curriculum alignment, course development, and instructional improvement in accordance with California standards, UC A-G requirements, and student learning needs. 2. Design and facilitate professional learning on curriculum, instructional materials, assessment, technology integration, and effective practices for multilingual learners, students with disabilities, and other diverse student populations. 3. Support teachers, department chairs, counselors, principals, and district leaders through classroom visits, coaching, resource development, collaborative problem-solving, and ongoing communication. 4. Coordinate the review, selection, implementation, and equitable distribution of textbooks, digital tools, and instructional resources across schools. 5. Analyze assessment and student performance data to identify instructional priorities, recommend targeted interventions, and strengthen curriculum and program effectiveness. 6. Represent the subject area in district committees, Board presentations, articulation meetings, and partnerships with feeder schools, colleges, universities, community organizations, and industry partners.
