Supplementary Professional Development Training

Every third week of the month, I conduct a 5-hour intensive training for cohorts of teachers from across Uzbekistan, focusing on inclusive, student-centered teaching strategies designed for practical, real-world classroom application.

Course Description

This course examines language structure, second language acquisition theories, the nature of cognitive and affective language development, and sociocultural and political factors affecting language development. An analysis of the theories, models, processes, and stages of language acquisition will also be covered.

NCESL 941 Summer Bridge-Academic ESL Review

Course Description

Designed to help ESL learners improve their academic reading and writing skills and review basic academic grammar and vocabulary. Emphasizes student success strategies and study skills that will help students be successful in their learning. The course is an academic ESL reading and writing skills development/refresher course.

NCESL 20 Conversation and Listening Skills for Beginners

Course Description

This course promotes listening comprehension and provides conversation practice. Students acquire the skills needed to have basic conversations with native speakers of English. Instruction focuses on beginning-level speaking and listening skills appropriate for conversational English.

Increases English language grammar, reading, listening, conversation, and writing competence.
